Nubar Peacock Feathers & Seche Vite FAIL

Nubar - Peacock Feathers, 3 coats

I hate Seche Vite. Look how it shrank and pulled the lacquer underneath with it? I'm done with SV, I gave it a fair chance (and another... and another... and...) it's only good for pedicures. The Nubar wasn't that hot either, the formula was watery and the polish flooded my cuticles. The bristles were unusually hard (for a Nubar brush) and somewhat splayed. Still, it's a very pretty colour. I don't know it the newer bottles suffer from the awful formula, mine is at least 1½ years old - any info on how the newer batches are?

Fack, I know you've been back with this blog for a little while, but I'm glad you're back! It was nice to see a crazy sim person loved nail polish too, like me. =D

This color is amazing! *drools*

I love this one! (I loved it even more in the bottle than on my nails though, hahah) Your pictures are great!!
I experienced the same thing with SV on top of Peacock Feathers, shrinkage to the max.. I've never used it since, stupid topcoat :S

Sounds like a real tangled mess. But that color change wraps me into it!

You did a really awesome job capturing this one!
And I hate hate hate when the topcoat shrinks like that...I'd rather it shrink from the tip than the cuticle. Although I haven't used Seche in a while (I can't afford it) and I still have the same problem.

And I agree with you on the formula...mine is new-ish..I bought it in like March or April. But the formula was pretty thin...to keep it from flooding, I had to put only a little on the brush at a time. Bleh.

I'm thinking about trying Seche, but I've heard lots of bad things about shrinkage...

They say that Seche Vite works best with polishes that has The Big 3 in them (because Seche Vite does). I've never noticed any difference myself so I don't know. The thing I do know is if you use another non fast drying topcoat underneat SV, it prevents shrinking. I use Opi Top coat underneat and that works for me every time, no shrinking! And I must say, your nails are so pretty!! God I am green with envy :P...

I agree SV is waaay too hyped across the nail blogesphere considering its so so performance. I prefer uk brand Nails Inc Albert Bridge, its a clear purple topcoat that easily outdoes SV in my experience. My SV is now collecting dust and i wasnt impressed by how quickly it thickened either.
Lovely nails btw girly x

I use Seche Vite for every manicure and ya it shrinks but I learned the trick with it is to wrap the tips so it doesn't and I have absolutely no problems with the shrinkage now.
